Welcome to fifth grade reading.  Throughout the year, we are going to be looking deeper into books and analyzing the characters that we will meet.  To begin the year, we read To the Edge of the World by Michele Torrey.  This is a historical fiction book that will allow the students to “travel” back 500 years ago and experience exploring the world with Mateo, Espinosa, and Captain Ferdinand Magellan.
